With my Form², I was kinda used to keep the last used Tank in the Printer to cover the optical glass below it to minimize if not entirely prevent dust from settling on it. Basically, pop it out, unhinge the Wiper, place the Tank Cover on it, pop it back into the 3D Printer - All of which also helped with the limited storing capabilities of mine.
The Form³ Manual mentions that the Resin Tank when not in use should be stored in the box it came in.
Is this mandatory or just a suggestion? I kinda like the idea of keeping the Tank in the Printer as I’ve done with my Form².

I am trying to print with a material called ferolite from Tethon3D. This is an iron filled resin.
For this material it is recomended to print with the longest exposure time possible. I tried searching which resin had the longest exposure time and I could only find a topic about resin exposure times from 2015. Does anyone know which resin has the longest exposure time, or does anyone have a list of exposure times for the different resins?

“Compatible: Standard Resins, Dental Resins, Durable, Tough, High Temp, Flexible, Castable. Offers at least two times longer lifetime than the standard resin tank when printing with these resins.” I need it for white, if it is 2 times longer life than I would stick with classic resin tank. But I red somewhere that it can go 3-5 liters of white resin?

Hi,
after starting an uploaded print or an already successful print from the Printers storage, the Printer initialized.
But with the message “filling …” an error occurs. What do 131 or 83 mean? some times 131, sometimes 83…
the cartridge printed since yesterday, i got the Printer 5 days ago. prints were successful since yesterday but now it can not start.
I checked if the resin Comes out of the Valve, it does if i press / squeeze the rubber with fingers, the vent cap is open.
I checked the floater, i released it and snapped it back in, everything ok.
i restarted the Printer.
I switched the Printer off completely.
I uploaded the Firmware to the newest.Nothing helped.
What else can I do?
I cannot start the factory reset, because i do not know how to do it.
Thanks for your help.
Best

I used Sudan Orange G to produce costumer resin, however, it contaminated the internal cover as the figure shown. I can’t clean it with IPA. Do you have any idea about removing Sudan Orange G from a plastic container?

My first Form³ prints just finished:
As I’m currently rebuilding my Tamiya #56020 Leopard 2A6 Full Option RC Model into a Leopard 2A7+ some parts couldn’t be recovered thus needed to be recreated from scratch.
What you’re basically looking at are the bases of the towing hardpoints and some non-functional hinges/locks for a decor hatch printed at 100μ - 35min print time plus another 15min for the first batch of Resin to fill the Tank xD.
Some black contamination happened in the IPA Bath though I couldn’t care less about that at the moment.
Very pleased with the outcome.

In 2020, Formlabs is launching a new marketing campaign called “Anyone Can Make Anything.” At its core, it’s a celebration of our users and the amazing things that you create with our products. As members of our fantastic community, we wanted to see if you’d like to help us kick off the campaign.
At CES in Las Vegas this January, we’ll be featuring a wall of 3D printed lithophane portraits of our users. We’re simply looking for your headshot to feature in our booth, as well as in other photo collages throughout the next year.
If you are interested in having your portrait featured, please fill out this survey before November 8th.
Thank you for your help! We really appreciate your support and we hope you can join us in one form or another at CES!

Hello all,
I’m working on a microfluidics chip and have noticed a couple others on these forums doing the same. However, others seem to be working on a slightly larger scale than I am, and I’m curious if it would be possible to print a microfluidic “channel” with an interior circumference of 25 microns ( or .025 millimeters) embedded completely inside the chip.
The reason for this is because cells tend to be about 10 microns in size, and so I would need the channel to be 25 microns or less in order to restrict movement to a single cell only.
The goal would be for the channel to not be clogged or collapsed of course - I have the form 2 currently but would be curious to try out a form 3 if this is possible on the new machine.
Thanks all,
Ebg

Hello people!
I have just installed my new Form 3, but there are some problems (I think with the mixer). I have followed the instructions carefully and done a firmware update but the problem remains. As soon as the mixer goes to the right it looks like it is going too far and then it comes loose from the magnet and then it pops up from the magnet. And as soon as the laser underneath goes to the left again, the magnet does take the mixer back, but as soon as it is completely to the left, it is stuck to the tank and the magnet no longer takes the mixer with him, after that I get error message.

I do a lot of prints, a lot. I’ve felt I needed to find a way to save on the IPA as I have had to change it out at least one a week because it has become weak from resin contamination.
One thing I did was make up a holder so I could position the finished prints, still on the build plate, at a 45/45 angle with one corner down which drains a lot of resin back into the resin tray. But not all of it.
After the build plate has set in the 45/45 holder for at least a half hour I now take the time to use the plastic scraper to get as much left resin off the build plate as I can. I scrape all clear area around the parts and especially the sides of the build plate. You’ll be surprised how much excess good resin you can get off of these areas. I scrape this off on the wiper so it goes back in the tray.
This has greatly extended the alcohol life in the Form Wash for at least another 2 to 3 days.

Has anyone tired a mixture of durable and standard resin? I am trying to find the perfect resin for miniatures. I have been using Standard grey and the resolution is great, however, it is just a little bit too brittle. Arms, fingers, weapons, ankles tend to break. I have had one of my model printed in Durable resin and the physical properties are great, however, the resolution isn’t great and the supports are difficult to remove. Ideally midway point between the two resins. Before spending the money to try it myself I figured I might check if anyone else has.

A year ago I bought flexible resin but I never used it until today where I wanted to print a stamp.
The date on the cartridge is September 1 2018 so the cartridige about 1 year old but according to formlabs the resin’s shelf life is about 24 months. So this cartridge did not expire, right? But whatever I do, everything fails. For printing a stamp Formlabs even has a “how to” page and they recommend printing the stamp directly on the build platform.
When I do that, it looks like the first layers are already spread out quite a bit. The whole print is spread out on each layer printing something totally useless.
I forgot to take pictures but I can certainly print again and provide pictures if anyone in here is willing to help.
I’m just wondering if there’s something special to the Flexible resin and/or if this is a known “problem” that can somehow be fixed.
